Greg Shoffner was born and raised in the Midwest and started making things out of steel when he was 18 years old. He started with oil derricks in Oklahoma followed by a time at the fourth generation, Thomas Crawford Blacksmith Shop in Newport, Rhode Island. He did structural and decorative steel construction in large log cabin structures in Colorado until he moved to Bend, Oregon in 1989. In 1996, Greg and his wife Lynne opened up Diversified Products, Inc. to fulfill the need for quality metal parts in the Central Oregon area. Everything from steel bumpers to solar panel brackets, Diversified Products, Inc. has been able to meet the needs of Original Equipment Manufacturers across the region and supply a great diversity of metal items across many industries.
Greg’s love for all things horses began as a youth, but largely developed alongside his daughter who became a horse enthusiast at a young age. He still competes in a local sorting and penning club even though his daughter is grown up and gone from home. Greg has made many custom barn accessories over the years to fill the needs of equestrian enthusiasts and their facilities; such as custom saddle racks, bridle racks, and many other steel items for things related to tack.
Recently Greg and Lynne asked each other, “Why don’t we generate a full line of barn accessories that are strong, durable, appealing to the eye, and that will last the lifetime of a barn?” Thus; Champion Barn Accents was born out of a need to provide the equine industry with a much needed supply of quality saddle racks, blanket racks, halter racks, rope racks, hose racks, and much more for your equine facility.
